The Swedish Bible Society was founded in 1815. We are an ecumenical organization led by a board and a council consisting of representatives of churches and denominations in Sweden.
Our mission is to ensure that the Bible is translated, known, available and read in Sweden and abroad. Our vision is to promote new meetings between people and the Bible. We work together with all Bible societies towards the goal that everybody will have a Bible of their own in a language they can understand and at a price they can afford.
Our headquarters are situated in the heart of Uppsala, one significant academic centre in Northern Europe, and we work together with leading scholars in different translation projects.
Donations to the Swedish Bible Society are used for spreading the Bible in Sweden and for international projects via United Bible Societies (UBS).
