About the Swedish Bible Society
The Swedish Bible Society, founded 1815, is supported by all the major churches in Sweden.  Our common task is to make the Bible available, known and used among the Swedish speaking community, but through the United Bible Societies we also contribute to translating and spreading the Bible into the International fellowship.

The Swedish Bible Society is responsible for translating the Bible into current Swedish and to the minority languages such as the Sami languages and well as the Swedish sign-language.

The Swedish Bible Society is funding resources for the bible-work among local churches and private donors. Seventy percent of all gifts are bound for the International
fellowship and thirty percent are bound for the bible work within Sweden.

The office of the Swedish Bible Society, with about 10 staff, is located in the city of Uppsala, 80 km north of the capital Stockholm.
